It’s time for a LAN Party
Yes I know it’s been way to long since the last LAN party so here a brief KernGamers update.
The web site has been updated. All previous user accounts were transferred over to the new site but if you experience any problems please email me at blure007@kerngamers.com. Also if you have a talent for web design and would be interested in volunteering your time to create a custom template for the web site please send me an email.
Now that I have experienced how easy a LAN party can be with consoles I have decided to focus our LAN parties for the Xbox 360. No more time spent copying, patching and installing games. No more worrying about system requirements. No more troubleshooting. If you are still interested in LAN parties for PC and would like to step and organize them let me know.
Now to the event details
Event Signups will begin on Monday Dec 14th.
The Date
The event will be Jan 12th 2008 from 10:00am – 10:00pm.
Available Spots
There will be 32 spot available
Cover Fee
There isn’t going any fee for this event. In the future we might charge to purchase prizes for tournaments but for now we are keeping it free.
Location
3331 Calloway Dr
Bakersfield, CA 93312
The Games
Halo 3
Call Of Duty 4
Both games support 4 player split screen and are extremely popular. If you don’t have these games already it should be extremely easy to find at a rental store. Also make sure all games are updated through Xbox live before the event.
What to bring
Console (This event is geared toward Xbox 360 but you are welcome to bring your Playstation or Wii, I won’t stop you)
Monitor or Television of some kind (I highly recommend getting a 360 VGA adaptor so you can bring a small LCD monitor, they can be found online for around 20 bucks)
Controllers
Power strip
10-15’ CAT 5 network cable
Games
Money for Food and drink (There is no cover charge for the event so you will need to provide your own snacks, food and drink. There is a few places to eat in walking distance or several dozen within a 5 minute drive)
If you have any questions or comments please email me at blure007@kerngamers.com or feel free to post them in the forum
